JEWELLERY CARE

JEWELLERY CARE

DO’S
  • Remove all your jewelleries before showering or cleaning: Soap can cause a film to form and make it appear dull.
  • When addressing, wipe each piece with a clean soft cloth to remove oils and perspiration.
  • Store your precious jewelleries to a fabric – lined box separately to prevent them from scratches.
  • Always remove your jewelleries before diving into a chlorine swimming poll or hot tub.
DONT’S

  • Do not leave the precious gemstones exposed to too much light. Pearls and other delicate materials, such as ivory, will bleach under extreme exposure to light. In addition, excessive heat and sudden temperature changes may also fracture some gems.
  • Do not wear fine jewellery when doing physical work such as sports, housekeeping and other common tasks.
  • Never expose jewellery into household cleaning products especially ammonia and chlorine bleach.
Caring for Gold

You can polish gold material jewelleries with a polishing cloth for best results. You can use a svelte or an old diaper but the professional clothes are the best. Avoid using tissues or paper towels because the fibres of these products can cause scratches to your jewellerries.

Caring for Diamonds

Clean diamond jewellery with a soft brush dipped in warm water and mild detergent.

Caring for Gemstones

Don’t expose colored gemstones to chemichals, solvents or ultrasonics without knowing their specific cleaning requirements.

Caring for Pearls

Never expose a pearl jewellery to chemicals or solvents and store each piece in a soft bag.

When Travelling

When traveling, protect your jewellery pices from scratches or other impact damage by padding it in a seperate box or case.

Tips for cleaning and Long Life

Most colored gems can be cleaned with warm water, mild dish soap (no detergents) and a soft brush. A soft tooth brush and a soft, lint-free cloth can also be used. Be sure to rinse your jewellery in a glass of water to remove cleaning solutions since you risk losing loose stones – or even an entire piece of jewellery – if you rinse directly in the sink.

Soft gems, such as pearls, on the other hand, can easily scratch. Use a new, clean makeup brush and warm, soapy water to softly clean them. Lay a steand of pearls on a towel to dry. the wet silk thread can strecth – and attract dirt – so don’t touch your strand until it’s completely dry. Pearls worn often should be restung once a year.
